DENSE-PHASE

CONVEYING SYSTEM

A positive-pressure conveying system that uses sealed pressure vessels and compressed air to move powders, granules and pellets as dense plugs or dunes at controlled low velocity. Twin-pot sequencing supports near-continuous transfer while helping protect product quality and reduce pipeline wear.

HOW THE PTS WORKS

FILL

Product enters the available pressure pot through an inlet isolation valve.

SEAL

The inlet closes and valve-position interlocks confirm a pressure-tight vessel.

PRESSURIZE

Controlled compressed air establishes the pressure needed for the route.

VENT & ALTERNATE

Air exits through the destination filter while the second pot prepares the next batch.

CONVEY

Material moves through the pipeline as dense plugs at controlled velocity.

WHY SELECT DENSE PHASE

Gentle product handling

Lower material velocity helps limit particle breakage, fines generation and blend segregation.

Reduced line wear

Controlled velocity can reduce wear at bends when handling abrasive or high-density products.

High solids loading

More product is carried per unit of gas compared with suspended-flo .

Dust- and gas-tight

Pressure-vessel feeding avoids leakage through a conventional low-pressure rotary feeder.

Flexible routing

One source can feed multiple destinations through pressure-rated diverter valves.

Process integration

PLC sequencing, weighing, inert gas, batch tracking and interlocks can be integrated.

TWIN-PОТ ОPERATING CONCEPT

One pressure pot conveys while the other fills or prepares for the next cycle. PLC-controlled valves alternate the pots to provide stable, near-continuous material transfer.

CONTROL & SAFETY INTERLOCKS

Valve confirmation

Inlet, discharge and diverter positions are proven before each pressure step.

Pressure supervision

Pot and line pressure are monitored for fill, convey and depressurization states.

Destination permissive

Receiving-silo high level, vent-filter status and route selection are interlocked.

Air management

Pressure, flow and sequencing are adjusted to maintain stable plug movement.

Blockage response

High pressure or no-flow conditions initiate controlled stop and safe recovery logic.

Process safety

Relief protection, earthing, area classification and inerting are engineered as required.

STANDARD CAPACITY & PRELIMINARY SIZING

Screening guide for a free-flowing powder with bulk density 0.5 kg/L (500 kg/m3). Final sizing requires a route calculation and, where necessary, material testing.
