SAFETY RELIEF

VALVE (SRV)

A Safety Relief Valve is a critical safety device designed to control and limit pressure within a system, protecting equipment and personnel from overpressure conditions.

AUTOMATIC OVERPRESSURE PROTECTION

NORMAL

Valve remains closed below set pressure.

PRESSURE RISE

System pressure approaches the set limit.

ACTIVATION

Pressure force overcomes spring force.

RELEASE

The valve opens and safely discharges excess pressure.

RESEAT

The valve closes after pressure returns to a safe level.

PROCESS FIT & KEY VALUE

PROCESS FIT & KEY VALUE

System protection

Helps protect pressure equipment and piping from overpressure damage.

Connection flexibility

Flanged, threaded and hygienic tri-clamp configurations support different systems.

Long service life

Robust construction and superior surface finishing support industrial
service.

Automatic action

Opens and resets through the balance of process pressure and spring force.

Material options

SS316, SS304 and carbon-steel construction selected for processcompatibility

Maintenance access

Closed-bonnet spring construction supports controlled adjustment and inspection.

FEATURES & TECHNICAL RANGE

Design basis

Engineered to agreed ASME Section VIII and API 520 project requirements where specified.

Spring-loaded mechanism

Controlled spring force provides accurate pressure release at the selected set pressure.

Construction routes

Available in bar-stock and casting construction to suit size, rating and service.

Closed bonnet

Enclosed spring arrangement helps protect the adjustment mechanism from the environment.

Nitrogen testing

Performance testing with nitrogen gas can be included in the agreed inspection plan.

Surface finish

Selected finishing supports durability, cleanability and corrosion resistance.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

The valve remains closed while process pressure is below set pressure. When inlet pressure produces sufficient force on the disc to overcome the spring load, the valve opens and discharges fluid. It reseats after pressure returns to a safe level.

KEY BENEFITS

Protects systems from overpressure damage

Ensures operational safety and compliance

Automatic pressure release and resetting

Suitable for a wide range of process media

Robust construction for long service life

Low maintenance and high reliability
