MANUAL BAG
DUMP STATION
An ergonomic, dust-controlled station for emptying small bags into conveying, dosing, mixing or process equipment. The safety grid retains oversize while integrated extraction captures displaced airborne dust.
HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS

PREPARE
Start extraction and confirm the outlet route

POSITION
Place the bag on the loading shelf.

OPEN
Cut or untie the bag below the hood.

EMPTY
Discharge powder over the safety grid.

FILTER
Capture dust and pulse-clean cartridges.

TRANSFER
Feed product through the hopper outlet.
PROCESS FIT & KEY ADVANTAGES
RIGHT APPLICATION
Manual batch charging
Ideal where operators empty 20-50 kg bags into a batch or continuous process.
Dusty powders
Inward airflow helps control nuisance dust at the point of opening and tipping.
Flexible integration
Connect to a feeder, conveyor, mixer, reactor, bin or pneumatic transfer line.
DESIGN VALUE
Cleaner workplace
Integrated filtration returns captured product to the hopper and limits
escape.
Operator protection
The hood, shelf and safety grid create a defined, ergonomic loading zone.
Service-friendly
Hinged access, removable grid and cartridge cleaning simplify
maintenance.
CONSTRUCTION & CONFIGURATION OPTIONS
PRODUCT CONTACT
SS304 or SS316L with application-specific internal finish
LOADING ZONE
Hinged hood, gas struts, bag shelf and removable safety grid
FILTRATION
Cartridge filters with pulse cleaning or plant dust connection
EXTRACTION
Integrated fan package or connection to a central extraction system
OUTLET
Butterfly valve, rotary valve, screw feeder or conveyor interface
PROTECTION
Earthing, grid interlock, differential-pressure and low-suction options
DUST-CONTROLLED OPERATING CONCEPТ
The operator empties each bag over the safety grid while inward airflow captures displaced dust. Filter cartridges retain fine particles; reverse-air pulses return collected powder to the hopper for cleaner, lower-loss transfer.
CONTROLLED OPERATING SEQUENCE

EXTRACТ
Start fan or plant extraction.

OPEN
Position and open the bag.

EMPTY
Tip product through the grid.

CAPTURE
Draw dust toward the filters.

CLEAN
Pulse cartridges into hopper.

DISCHARGE
Feed the process.
CONTROL, SAFETY & CLEANING
Extraction permissive
Bag dumping begins only when sufficient extraction is available.
Filter monitoring
Differential-pressure indication supports timely pulse cleaning and service.
Pulse-air quality
Clean, dry compressed air protects filters and product-contact zones.
Operator protection
Safety grid, earthing and optional interlocks reduce handling risks.
Containment options
Higher containment, glove ports or liner handling can be engineered.
Cleaning access
Hood, grid, hopper and filters remain accessible for validated cleaning.
STANDARD RANGE & PRELIMINARY SIZING
Screening basis for free-flowing powder and conventional manual bag emptying. These ranges help establish a starting configuration; the final system
is selected from confirmed product, dust and process data.

PRELIMINARY SIZING BASIS
HOPPER WORKING VOLUME
V >= (bag mass / bulk density) x surge factor
Allow for retained heel and downstream response
EXTRACTION AIRFLOW
Q = opening area x capture velocity | Then check duct and filter resistance
Final velocity follows hazard and hygiene review
WHAT CONTROLS THE FINAL SELECTION
Product behaviour
Bulk density, particle size, flowability, moisture
and temperature.
Dust risk
Dustiness, toxicity, exposure target, SDS and
explosion characteristics.
Bag duty
Bag mass, size, frequency, opening method
and empty-bag handling.
Hopper surge
Material per dump, required buffer and
downstream acceptance rate.
Filtration
Opening size, airflow, filter media, area, pulse
cleaning and fan duty.
Hygiene & access
MOC, finish, cleanability, validation, earthing
and maintenance space.
FINAL ENGINEERING CHECK

Confirm product and SDS

Verify bag and loading zone
