PLOUGH SHEAR
MIXER
An intensive horizontal batch mixer for powders, granules and fibres. Wall-close plough tools create rapid three-dimensional circulation and a mechanically generated fluid bed. Tool geometry and controlled shaft speed support fast, repeatable blending.
HOW THE MIXER WORKS

CHARGE
Load major and minor ingredients through the top inlet.

CLOSE
Close the cover and prove guards and safety interlocks.

MIX
Plough tools lift and project the complete product bed.

FLUIDIZE
Particles exchange through radial, axial and circumferential paths.

VERIFY
Confirm the validated endpoint by time or sampling.

DISCHARGE
Open the central bottom outlet for rapid emptying

MECHANICALLY FLUIDIZED MIXING CONCЕРТ
Plough tools rotate close to the wall of a horizontal cylindrical drum. Their shape and arrangement lift product from the bed and generate simultaneous circumferential, radial and axial movement, keeping the complete batch in active circulation.
CONTROLLED BATCH SEQUENCE

CHARGE
Confirm outlet closed and add ingredients.

CLOSE
Close cover and prove all safety interlocks.

LIFT
Run the plough shaft at validated speed and time.

FLUIDIZE
Maintain three-dimensional circulation through the batch.

VERIFY
Sample or confirm the established endpoint.

DISCHARGE
Open the central bottom outlet and empty rapidly.
CONTROL, SAFETY & MAINTENANCE
Start permissive
Mixer starts only with cover and outlet closed and all guards proven.
Drive protection
Current, torque, speed and bearing monitoring detect abnormal load or obstruction.
Speed control
VFD control maintains the validated plough speed, acceleration and mixing duration.
Safe access
Zero-speed proof and electrical isolation are required before opening the mixer.
Recipe control
Plough speed, optional spray dose, blend time and discharge logic are stored.
Cleaning access
Wide hinged cover, smooth internals and flush outlet support validated cleaning.

Mass = working volume x bulk density
Example: 1,000 L x 0.5 kg/L = 500 kg
Use loose bulk density at charging condition
CYCLE CAPACITY
Batches/h = 60/total cycle minutes
Include charge + blend + verify + discharge
Do not size from mixing time alone

Density range, flowability, cohesion, angle of
repose and tendency to aerate.
Blend objective
Ingredient ratio, required CV, sampling method
and segregation sensitivity.
Mechanical duty
Gross batch mass, starting torque, shaft
deflection, bearings and transmission load.
Product protection
Fragility, abrasion, temperature sensitivity and
permitted plough tip speed.
Liquid addition
Dose, viscosity, droplet size, spray location
